Curses.... Foiled A Goblin

Drtran showed zero nervousness on his face as he walked into the area. He had revenge on his brain, this time, this Goblin was going down. He had been beaten and humiliated all week and today was the last straw. It was only so many times he could lose, he was running out of money, his addiction kicked him the ass. Bluffstix wore a grin when he spotted Doc walking down towards him. Me’Bhi the Quaduv looked at the Taru. “I’m back.” Doc boldly stated, peering into the Goblins eyes with a look of determination. “You bring me my money?” Bluff asked. Doc reached into his pants pocket and handed it over. “Scram!” he shouted at Doc who wouldn’t budge. Me’Bhi raised his sword, poking Doc in the back with it, he was interrupting their game. “Grown folks are playing here.” He said as he poked. “One more go.” Doc said, sidestepping his sword. “You owe me it.” He said again. He removed the Goblin Die from his pockets. “Scared?” he asked as he shook them in his hand. “Haven’t you been beaten enough?” Bluff questioned, if Doc wanted to lose more money, than he was sure to not stand in his way. “I’ve collected I’ll say around… four hundred thousand dollars from you.” He poked fun at Doc’s weeklong losing streak. No matter how many times he was beaten, he always came back. He even lost the cloak off his back in one game, Doc was addicted. It was fast money, easy money. Who needs a BCNM when Bluff ran his own gambling rings in the restricted area of Newton Movalpolos. Only the gutsy players dared to seek him out, given the fact that all the Moblins that lived here were angry and loved fights. Doc slammed the dice on the table, “Don’t be scared.” He taunted. “Step to the back and wait your turn.” Bluff told him as him and Me’Bhi finished their game. Doc did as he was told, he didn’t mind waiting all day. He had an ace up his sleeve. He went to a wise chanter in Windurst Waters and got his dice fixed with a lucky enchantment spell. It could’ve been a hoax and the guy just wanted the money but it was a risk Doc was willing to take. He rubbed them between his finger tips. The rules were simple, the higher roll won and they rolled 3 times whoever won the set get a point, 5 points and game is over. Me’Bhi slammed his fist on the table, shattering it. He screamed at Bluff who did nothing more than laugh and stuck out his had. “Cheater!” he yelled and withdrew his sword. “Just pay up the money and get out.” Bluff looked at him. “You’re not welcome back here, how dare you accuse me of cheating.”

Two moblins appeared as Bluff snapped his fingers and Me’Bhi was escorted outside. Bluff counted his money and turned to Doc. “Are you poor yet?” he asked him. Doc didn’t want to let his shell know what was going on, he had to unequip it and make himself invisible on his friend list. No one in there could understand and he knew they would take pity on him, or stop him, but he was a man full of pride, and a man who would not be beaten. When his friends asked what happened to his money he had to lie and say he gave it to friends, he was generous like that though. Doc remembered it, he was sitting in Windy Waters with his legs dangled over the pond. He was down on his luck but he wanted revenge. Suddenly someone sat next to him. Bhare The Wise was the greatest Chanter is all of Windy, he was a legend in the country of sorcery. Doc knew who he was, and when Doc told him his troubles, he insisted on taking his help, for a small fee or course. Two grand he charged to load his dice with good luck, it may have been superstition but Doc wanted his money back, without spilling Goblin blood all over the place. He walked towards Newton with a smile on his face and a serious chip on his shoulder, today was the day. He planned top put it all up, he had to borrow four hundred grand from a friend, and promised he’d pay it back soon. He was shit out of his luck and he thanked his lucky stars his friend looked out for him. He put it on the line, he won, he nets 800k, he loses….. He didn’t think of losing. Bluff threw water on Doc’s face, snapping him back to the present time. He looked around the room, he noticed HIS black cloak hanging up on the coat rack. He remember walking through North Gustaberg that cold and windy night, he did it all shirtless. All because he needed something to bid and he was fresh out of money. He was addicted to gambling, and trying to win his money back. It damn near seemed like Bluffstix had a contract on Doc’s soul. He would probably bet that if he lost tonight. He had the contract written in his back pocket. I will forever serve you until my body grows old and wrinkled, waiting on your every move with every ounce of soul in my body. My soul is your soul. X:__________

“Let’s do this.” He said as he snapped his mind away, he’s becoming a junkie. He fingers shook nervously as he set the money on the table. “Who’d you fuck to get that?” Bluff laughed. He counted it over and nodded his head to the Taru. “My dice or yours?” he asked. Doc held out his hand and Bluff grabbed them, balls his fist and let them go. And the game began, Doc ended up with a 4-2 lead. Excitedly he threw the dice, as it landed on the ground he sighed, Bluff won that pair. 4-3 Then it was 4-4. Doc jaws hit the floor, he had rolled a 21, perfect, Bluff would have to roll a 22 to beat him. The Goblin blew on the dice, and then he let it go. Time seemed to be moving in slow motion as the dice bounced around the area, it landed the first die at 11. The second was spinning wildly on its side, adding a dramatic effect. He felt his heart stop when it landed on 11. He couldn’t believe it, he was beaten again. He swore, he yelled, he grew angry. An hour later Doc was turning to leave, adjusting his boxers so he wasn’t revealing himself. He was broke and damn near naked, but what hurt most was he was still a loser. His errant gear, belonged to Bluff. His Diamond rings, Bluff’s. His Artifact armor, was his also. “Goodbye fella. I’m a self-made millionaire thanks to you.” He said as he led Doc to the door. “And by the way….” Bluff began as Doc was out the door. “Tell Bhare I have all of his money now.” Bluff said as he slammed the door. Grin wide on his face.

Hey there!

You're on Siren, right? In any case, I'm working my way through your writing and this is some good stuff!

Great drama on the FFXI episodes, and funny too. Thanks!
