FFXI The Novel(hmm)

The sound of metal echoed throughout the hall of Ru’Lude Gardens. One by one they came with their swords and axes sheathed. The gleam in their eyes shone inside the well lit hallway. Young fighters of the resistance came from all over Vana’Diel. Hoping that they could impress their Lord, having many beastman’s blood stained on their hands. They were tired, they were hungry but most of all they were proud. The beastman horde had turned and ran cowardly back through Rolanberry Fields. A surprise attack on the Grand Duchy Of Jeuno had be thwarted, with King Undyingsoul dispatching troops to counter their attack with one of their own. He sat atop his throne, sipping wine from his cup as his wife took her place beside him. Xchelly looked on as the doors were opened and one by one the fighters entered their domain. Men, Women, and teenagers all piled into their chambers. She remember what it was like to be on the battlefield, healing the combatants when they needed her the most, right before they would be knocked unconscious. She looked over at her husband as a worried look crossed his face. He knew it he couldn’t hold the beastman off for long. Soon they would just regroup and try again, and again, and again. Persistent was the word best used to describe them. “Speak.” Undyingsoul called out to his group. One man stepped to the front of the crowd, his swords gleaming in the light, his Vermillion Cloak had blood stained on it. His eyes met up with the King’s before he looked back at the fighters behind him. “What is your name?” Xchelly asked. She looked down at them and was very thankful to have brave Warriors fighting in their name. “I have traveled a great distance to get here.” He spoke in a calm tone, he kneeled before royalty. “I am not one of your fighters.” The man spoke and they looked at him enticed at the thought of a new fighter under their command. “I was making a trip through the Marshlands when I was attacked.” He spoke and Undyingsoul held up his hand to quiet him. “So you want to join my fighters?” Soul spoke. He was in his late thirties, an early king but not one to be taken lightly by any means necessary. Inheriting the throne from his father who was slain by a Beastmans sword. He was promoted from sergeant to King as he was the only son his father had. In the past seven months of his reign the Grand Duchy of Jeuno had improved, merchants offered a lot more goods to traveler’s weary of a day of traveling. He kept the three nations happy and they all lived in a peaceful harmony. But he was a business man, conducting trades and merchandise and ruling the four nations seamlessly. But he was described by some as a brute and his work ethics weren’t always welcomed with the townspeople. But they obeyed their King and did what he said. His rules weren’t too farfetched. He didn’t allow Beastman into his town, not even non-hostile ones. The goblins that set up shop in Lower Jeuno had to move, taking their good reputation with them. They had never once caused anyone any harm. Seven brothers had to relocate, they didn’t move far. They eventually reopened shop relocated in Bastok.

The Massacre Sample(non ffxi story n 2nd novel)

Starr looked down at her hands as the warm summer air blew her hair all around. It was getting dark fast and she sat back and wondered where the day had gone. She had her red hair tied into a ponytail and focused her brown eyes onto her friend David. He gave her a stupid grin before she punched him playfully. She was done with her first year of college and couldn’t wait to start hanging out with her friends again and David was one of the closest she’s had. His brown skin shone in the last bit of daylight as he sat on her steps. He had known her since he moved to Cumberland, Maryland. It wasn’t his decision, his mother nearly forced his hand but there wasn’t anything that he or his siblings could do. He had met Starr in high school, but he decided to take the working man’s route and postpone college for a year, Starr on the other hand went right after she graduated causing them to never really hang out based upon their hectic schedules. It was a perfect day, except in the back of Starr’s mind she was worried about her friend Derek. He was her best friend if you can call him that, he had been extremely stressed the past couple of days and she wanted hear his voice, she always had a way to calm him down. But Derek hadn’t called her like he swore he would have, and the last time she spoke to him was last night and she could hear the anger gravitating out of his voice. She worried sick about him, him and his girlfriend were going back and forth with arguing and he feared he would lose her. She meant to him his life and without her he felt no point in living. “Starr.” David called to bring her back to reality. She had finally focused her brown eyes onto him. “Yeah.” She replied softly. “You’re fucking up.” David joked, that was like his catchphrase. She held her head up and looked up at the clouds above her head, she whispered a silent prayer for her friend.

“I’ve got to go home.” David replied after a hour had went by. He had done his catching up with her and he hugged her tiny frame tightly before turned and walking down the stairs. She had watched him walk around the corner before she turned and went into her house. She felt like she hadn’t ate in weeks, stress will really do a number on you. She dragged her feet towards the kitchen and she rifled through the fridge. Pulling out lunchmeat and bread she decided to make a ham sandwich, watch a movie and call it a night. Hopefully Derek will call to let her know he was alright. She had known him for years and they have grown really close to each other, he considered her his best friend in the whole world. She understood him and they always had fun when they were together. Her mother was at work, and she wondered how late she was going to be out, she didn’t mind being home alone but she wished she had some sort of company. She held the butter knife in her hand as she smoothed the mayonnaise over the bread before neatly placing the ham on top of it. She heard her doorbell buzz and she jumped, she laughed a bit to herself before yelling “Who is it?” She sat the knife down and awaited an answer. She expected to walk to the door and see his skinny frame there, with his black hair spiked on the top. She looked out the window but Derek’s car wasn’t present. The doorbell buzzed again and she opened the door and stared at the person on the other side. “Hey.” She opened the screen door and hugged her. “What brings you here?” Starr had to question, she hadn’t seen her friend Chelsey all week. Chelsey stood there with her blond hair hanging down over her face. Hurt was the look that her green eyes had shown. With the saddened look on her face Starr began to worry. Chelsey was a coworker’s of Derek, so she figured it was something about him. She had known Chelsey for quite some time but they never really hung out all that much. But in this little town everyone is your friend. “Can I come in?” Chelsey finally opened up and asked. Starr stood back and let the door swing open and Chelsey stepped inside. Once inside the living room Chelsey found the nearest sofa to plop down on and then she buried her face into her hands. Starr stood on the other side of the living room looking at her, waiting on her to speak what was on her mind. “It’s Derek.” She began and Starr felt her heart sink into the bottom of her stomach.

She tried to get a grip on what Chelsey told her but all she could think about was throwing up. She couldn’t have lost him, not him, not her best friend. How could someone who seemed so strong do something as weak as take his own life. She let her head bang off of the wall as tears made their way down her cheek. Chelsey walked over towards her and she cried also, they rocked and cried together. Chelsey looked into her eyes as she rocked back and forth. “Police say he burned himself to death.” “Set gasoline all over his room and lit a match.” Chelsey went on. “When they got to the body it was burned so badly.” Chelsey went on before Starr held her hand up to silence her. “I guess he lost it and ended all his pain.” She remembered as her tears streamed down her face. Chelsey looked over at her but couldn’t think of anything to say, she was close to Derek and he was the main guy at work she talked to. “I can’t believe this.” Chelsey finally broke the silence. Starr forced herself to stand as she went into the kitchen, she poured herself and Chelsey a glass of water. With the glasses in her hand she walked back into the living room and the mood was very depressive. “Who called the police?” Starr asked as she handed Chelsey the glass. Chelsey’s green eyes began to shine as the light from the ceiling reflected off of them. “Do you know?” Starr asked before Chelsey could even reply. “His friend found the body..” She said as she took a sip from her glass, she sat it on the table next to her. “He was downstairs in the house and he heard an explosion.” Chelsey replied. Starr looked at her puzzled. “Police said his friend rushed upstairs and was greeted by flames so he ran downstairs and out the door. That’s when he called the fire department crying.” Chelsey finished. Starr thought long and hard as the mental images cast inside her head and what happened played out in her mind. She mentally pictured Derek spraying gasoline over everything even over himself. She winced at the thought. Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone rang. “Hello.” She answered it, she awaited the person on the other end to say something. She listened closely and all she could hear was light sobs. “Hello.” Starr repeated herself, she gave the person on the other end a chance to reply. She could still hear the muffled tears as the phone was taken away from the persons mouth. She heard them blow their nose and she made a disgusted face. “Starr?” The voiced cried out and Starr wondered where she had heard that voice from. “Who is this?” Starr asked, she motioned for Chelsey to be quiet. “It’s Autumn, Derek’s ex-girlfriend.” When Starr heard the word Ex she figured she knew what drove Derek over the edge. He was nuts about her and she broke up with him. She almost wanted to hang up the phone on her but she didn’t. “Are you there?” Autumn asked when Starr didn’t say anything. She could still hear Autumn sobbing into the phone. “Yeah I’m here.” Starr asked as she pushed a button and the phone went into speaker mode. Chelsey looked on puzzled. “Have you heard about…” Autumn began before she broke down again. Her reaction made Chelsey cry some more. “I just can’t believe he’s gone.” Starr said loud enough so she can hear her. She was getting lost in her own little world. Her alternate reality where she didn’t hear the grim news that just made her whole life suck. Autumn had ceased her crying a bit and told Starr to listen closely. “I know I don’t believe Derek would be so little and kill himself, but he sent me a email.” Autumn said and a chill ran up Starr’s spine. Chelsey’s eyes grew big and wide as she waited for Autumn to speak again. “A email?” Starr asked as she looked over at her computer. The screensaver bounced over the screen back and forth. “Yes.” Autumn said and Starr put her attention back to her. “He sent it to me and you, it sounds like a suicide note.” Autumn said and Starr stared at the computer. Chelsey played with her fingers while sitting on the couch. Autumn sat on the other end and awaited Starr to say something. “Read it.” Chelsey blurted out. “Who’s there.” Autumn sounded shocked when she heard another voice in the background. “Just Derek’s friend Chelsey, she told me what happened.” Starr replied as she pulled the chair underneath the computer desk out and sat in it. She typed in the password to unlock the computer and waited for it to boot up. “How is his mother taking it?” Starr asked as her hand gripped the mouse. “She’s been devastated.” Autumn gave the response Starr knew she was going to hear. “Are you going to check your email?” Autumn asked. “Doing it now.” Starr replied as she clicked on the mailbox icon. “Call me back, the police are on the other line.” Autumn said before they heard the dial tone. Chelsey dreaded getting up but she took her place behind Starr, she wanted to see what this note had said. Starr’s eyes wearily looked over the screen until her face lit up and she saw the new message from Derek Twine. She turned to look back at Chelsey before she got up out of her seat and walked across the room. “I don’t want to read it.” Starr refused. Getting a grip on the fact that Derek killed himself was one thing, but reading a note telling her he was going to do it was too much in her eyes. “You got to know what it says.” Chelsey said as she took a seat in the chair, before Starr could object she clicked the mouse and the email opened.

Why is the world such a dark and lonely place, where no one is ever good enough no matter how much they change or how much right they do? Why is it that when you find true happiness the world only seems to crash and shatter around you? People react different to you, smile in your face and stab you behind your back the first chance they can. Well I’m sick of acting like life doesn’t get me down. My grandmother is sick and dying, but she’s still the most joyous person I know. My dad and I are no longer on speaking terms and I just lost my girlfriend Autumn, the one girl who seemed to soothe every ache in my body with just her touch. If you love something, despite how the saying goes, you should never let it go. They say that Karma is a bitch depending on how you treat her. At times I sat up at night and wondered is this life even worth living. My job walks over me and treats me like shit, I get yelled at for everything I do, nothing is ever good enough. I’ve never gotten so much as a good job Derek. I am thankful for my true friends, those who have yet to turn their back on me, but what else do I have to go on for? How much longer until they bite me also? Before I go there are some people who I have to give an honorable mention to. Autumn. I love you, I have loved you through out thick and thin, through happy times and sad. I figured we were destined to be married but you dumped me. I would have giving it all to you, but you just didn’t want to have it. Instead you accused me of doing everything possible, even cheating. I have never and I would never cheat on you, but that doesn’t matter anymore because you told me I don’t matter anymore. Your mind was made up, and so is mine. I don’t matter to you and nothing else matters to me. May my blood rest on your conscience. You took everything away from me, you held the key to my joy and my pain. You’ve scarred me badly, now I hope my death scars you. Starr. How are you doing buddy, I’m sorry that we have to end on these terms, just know that I respect your friendship and you’ve helped me through everything. But I’m sorry babe, sorry that you cant help me through this. You’ve never experienced pain like this before and I hope you never do. Head up and don’t feel bad, all good things come to an end sooner of later. We’ve had a good run and your still my best buddy. I don’t want you to think any less of me, but this has to be done, I have no motive to go on any further. I love you buddy, now and until the end of time. And to anyone else out there who decided to kick me while I was down, realize that we are all humans, we make mistakes and we shouldn’t be punished so extremely for them. They say that things that go around usually tend to come back around and for all the pain you all caused me I hope I see you in hell sometime. Sincerely Derek. Twine.

Chelsey sat in silence as the note sent goosebumps down her spine. She wanted Starr to say something but she didn’t say anything, she just held her head down and whimpered. She let the pillows absorb her tears and her body twitched as coughs escaped her throat. She felt like she needed to vomit. She leaped off the couch and made her way to the back of the house where the bathroom was located. She dropped to her knees and stuck her head over the toilet, she felt the vomit rise through the pit of her stomach before it exited her mouth. Chelsey ran behind her, grabbing a towel off the rack and handing it to her. “He blamed Autumn for his death.” Chelsey spoke as Starr dry heaved. “That has got to be a tough weight on anyone’s shoulders.” Chelsey continued to blabber on. Starr heaved and heaved until spit dripped down onto her chin, with the towel in her hand she wiped it up. She gripped the toilet seat and hoisted herself to her feet. Chelsey patted her on her back as she walked back into the living room. “That was harsh.” Chelsey continued. “That was just plain nasty.” Starr corrected her. “Poor Autumn.” Starr finished as she plopped down on the couch.

Ballista VI

“Soul!” Faro yelled at the top of his lungs as Pwn stood overtop of Chell. He took his axe out of her head and looked down at the person he defeated. He knew that he had the biggest target out of them all on him now, but justice was done, maybe Soul would think before he fired his arrows next time. Without saying a word to Faro, he took off across the area. Just finally arose from his slumber and he had Twylight still inside of his sights. He hoisted her above his head. He wanted revenge, he wanted to kill her, you don’t betray your country in the way that she did. Friend or foe, Tone was his closest friend but Ballista rules and friendships are tossed out the window if they aren’t from Sandy. Her blood will most definitely soak the earth, but he wanted to make her suffer, to show her that will not be tolerated. He threw her up against the tree and he awakened Soul. He nudged for him to get his bow ready. Just held Twy’s arm up against it and Soul did his part letting his arrow fly through her hand and sticking into the tree. Just did the same with her other one and Soul followed up. “Now what?” Soul asked as he aimed between her eyes. She had no where to run and all she could do was bleed. Just took out his knuckles that he slaughtered Tone with, the spike-equipped ones. He punched her in the jaw and the spike jammed through her skin, he quickly pulled it out and laughed at the blood that spewed behind it. Soul had his aim onto her when someone grabbed his shoulder and spun him around. Faro glared at him with hurt eyes. “You okay?” Just asked as he noticed his friend was shaken up. Faro shook his head no, and they asked him what was up. “Chell’s dead.” He broke the news, and even Twy looked up through her pain at him. “Did you raise her?” Soul asked, “I couldn’t, I’d be slaughtered as long as it will looked at by every Bastokian...” he kept going before Just silenced him. “Name.” Soul said, his bow quivering in his hand. “Give me a name.” he repeated himself. “Pwninator.” He said before Soul and Just took off, leaving Twy to bleed until she died. Drakk and Stella took in the site together, they gasped to themselves. The fighting, the casualties had to stop. She didn’t know the time left on any of the defeated people but she knew that members from the opposing forces had someone playing watchguard for any looking to spare a Raise. It hung in the balance that this was a matter of life and death. She knew the rules, unconscious for an hour and the grim reaper owns your soul and you die. Die, as in not come back. With as much pride as both countries had no one allowed anyone to raise anybody. The death toll, if it was to happen would fall on her hands. She initiated this big fight, even thought everyone agreed on their own, this was her doing. Without saying a word Drakk looked at her, he knew how to read what was on his wife’s mind. “But what about allegiance.” He began, a tear rolled down her face. “I don’t give a shit right now.” She looked at him with hurt eyes. Drakk sighed as he chanted near Volarion, Stella kept an eye out for anyone in the distance who may be targeting her husband. He finished his chant and Vol got up and smiled at them. Drakk took a knee to rest himself, his weakness was wearing away. “It’s over Vol.” She told him, who looked at her surprised. “I refuse to fight anymore.” She said to him, she rested her hand on his shoulder. “But Stella.” He began. “It’s more than just a countries war. At this rate not only will we not speak to each other again, we may never see each other again.” “Did you want the reaper to consume your soul? And you spend an eternity with him?” she looked at him, her tail wagging behind her. “I haven’t thought of the big picture when I declared war. I forgot about the rules of death and how it doesn’t take a backseat to someone’s pride.” Vol bit his lip, he thought to himself. “So who is the winner, who is the strongest?” “Sandy.” Drakk muttered from the ground. “Well regardless of who wins, if the timer runs out on these people, we will all lose something.” Stella preached.

“Move it.” Stu yelled as Tazzy continued to chant under his breath. “Stop.” He ordered again. He looked down at the remains of what was his girlfriend as Falk’s body was fried to a crisp. Stu knew that he was next, as much anger as he felt he was overwhelmed and couldn’t muster up the attack. The thought sinking into his head that his beloved Falk was defeated. It made it even worse because he saw her take her last breath before it was too late to try to stop it. He watched as the fire danced over her body and struck Fantazye also, he looked at the smirk upon the Taru’s face as Stu got on his knees and knelt beside her. Before Taz could do the same to the Ranger as he did to the Thief he was stopped. Drtran nodded to Stu before he cried out “Mommy.” “Get her up…. And now.” Stu ordered with anger in his voice. He looked at the slept Black Mage. The anger flew throughout his veins at a rapid pace. “Stu…” Doc called to him. “Stu…” he said as his bow took it’s aim, it shook due to his hands ,moving rapidly. “Stop… please.” Mrs. walked over towards them and said. “No.” Doc said as he turned to her, despite their friendship this had turned extremely personal. She covered her eyes as Stu unleashed his most deadly attack. Eagle Eye Shot pierced Taz’s skull with such force the arrow left a hole inside his head. She stared in horror as he dropped to the ground. “Raise him.” He told her. “I’m not dumb.” “Raise him.” He yelled and she jumped back and tried to. He watched her as she chanted and she kept her eyes on them. Not once did Stu turn his bow to her, he kept it at his side. When she finished Taz rose to his feet, then plummeted back to the earth again as Stu’s Flaming Arrow took him down. “Raise him.” He yelled, a furious look in his eyes. “No… you will have to kill me before I do that again.”

Their swords danced, Stella did a nice job of blocking with her shield due to the fact that Rikio was duel-wielding so she had the advantage. Rik jumped back and allowed her Jet Stream to fly at Stella, she dodged it. “You can’t harm me.” She stated as she used Defender. Rik turned and slashed quickly, cutting the Paladin in her leg, she let the scream come out of her mouth. “You’ve done it now.” Stella said as she tapped into her most powerful move, her desperation mode. With Invincible up she became immune to all of Rikio’s attacks, and she used that ability to her favor as she swung her sword at the Blue Mage. “Dude.” Just said as he stopped laughing, Chall laid out on the ground not breathing, “It’s like Mijin-Gakure but you didn’t hurt me.” Just laughed as he recalled Chall cutting himself, no, impaling himself. Chall couldn’t respond, his eyes rolled into the back of his head. Just felt bad for the boy, but then again this was Ballista. Just saw Pwn running past him and he decided to turn his frustration onto him. He jumped in the way and swung his fist but Pwn had ducked it and Just cried out in pain as an arrow was lobbed through his chest. “My fault.” Soul cried out, “Shit… my fault.” He repeated as he fired another arrow at Pwn. Just removed it and tried to stop the bleeding. “Soul.” He huffed and puffed. Pwn had managed to get away from Soul and Just stopped him before he could chase after him. “Shit.” He cried as the blood dripped over his hands. “Sorry bro.” Soul cried, “My mind is fucked up right now.” “Are you high?” Just asked, “Naw, but Stu tried to kill Chell and Twy fucking raised Tone.” “She what?” Just spit out, “Yeah…” Soul nodded his head but didn’t look at him. “Looks like we have to pay Twy a visit.” Rogue was on the receiving end of the katana, it broke through her defense and she felt vulnerable. “Seep slow.” She had poisoned Supreme, the poison began to take its effect, draining away her energy, the harder she swung, the more the poison took effect. Sooner or later the poison will wear off, but it will have had its effect of weakening Supreme. Still she managed to swing and Rogue continue trying to play the dodging game, then she felt the cold steel slide across her neck, blood spilled from her wound, Supreme had nicked it. She tried to jump out of the way as Supreme sliced her arm, she rested her body against the tree for support. She saw Supreme standing there, rage built up inside her as it seems as though she was mocking her, waiting for her to plead for her life. The fire burned inside but the pain didn’t subside. Then she noticed Supreme closed her eyes, and then she saw Khom resting against the tree. Baffled she thanked him, he nodded as his pain refused to go away. “Drop the flute!” Riq turned his head and stared at the tall Elvaan kid behind him. Elvane stood with his knuckles equipped, they had spikes on the end of them. Riq backed away as far as he could. “Back off.” Scorpionsys said as he stared at him. Elv shrugged his shoulders and swung his arm, Scorp parried it but Elv swung them too fast, a punch landed into his ribs but Riq’s melodies kept him into the fight. An arrow shot past her face and she jumped, she ran to take cover but bounced off of the Galka. “Where are you going?” Just asked her, as he lifted her up. Twylight trembled in his arms, she was scared to death, she had been caught, found out. “Why are you helping them you rat.” Just cried out, Soul had his aim onto her. “I’m not sorry for what I did, and if you’re going to kill me… fuck it… do it.” She swallowed her fear. “Ready… Aim…” Stu said from his position. Whoosh. Whoosh. The bolts flew out of his crossbow, pricking Soul and Just in the neck. “Meh.” He shot another one, putting Twy to sleep also.

“Die…” Falk shouted as her blades danced into Tazzys skin, he jumped backwards but she still hit him a great deal. “Die…” she shouted at him again, swinging them gracefully in her arms. He softly chanted to himself, and he tried to concentrate despite being attacked. The Silence had worn off on him, and now it was time to get even. As the daggers cut into his arms, his focus was still good. Soon he thought. Lifedrinker Lars kicked Bigby with its legs, sending him crashing against the ground. Blue stood up and ordered her pet to attack. Big looked up at the spider on its hind legs, he swung his dagger in defense but it didn’t do much good. He danced with the spider, and his rage grew as Blue fed her pet food, healing it when it got hurt. He decided to turn his attention to the master, not the pet. He charged at Blue before he was stopped in his tracks, spider webs attached to his legs making him slower than usual, it covered his arms and made them heavier. Blue casually smiled at him as she equipped her axe. Stella lay on the ground, she turned to her side and tried to grab her shield but Rik crashed her blade through her hand. Stella looked into the Blue Mages eyes, she saw the intensity. She didn’t know how powerful a BLU was until she had to tangle with one, even though she used her most powerful attack. Rik wasn’t out yet, and somehow she had gained control over the fight. Stella never wanted to be on the end of another Frenetic Rip in her life, the pain it caused shook her whole body, sending her crashing to the ground, and she knew it was her time to be defeated. She pondered would the Ballista end with her death, or will it continue? Rikio glanced down at her, her sole blade remaining in her hand. Stella looked at her, she shielded her face from the sun to see her better. “Thank you.” Stella said, Rik looked at her puzzled. “Thank me?” she spoke, she stopped her attack to figure out what Stella meant. Stella just nodded, and that’s when Rikio turned around. “Surprise.” Khomet said as he finished his Flare II and the wall of flames behind him came crashing towards Rikio in a hurry. She cried in pain as her body became engulfed before it sent her lifelessly to the ground. Khom extended a hand to help up Stella, who bowed to him nonstop. “Ouch.” Chell said as she grabbed at her neck, they had removed the arrow with limited damage done to her. But she began to feel a little bit woozy and her vision was blurred. “A Blind Arrow.” Faro said as he squeezed it out. She stood on her feet as Faro helped her up. “Where’s Soul?” she turned to ask him, “Fighting.” He replied. Faro tried to lead her away before he stopped and swore. “Move.” Pwn told him, a nasty scowl on his face. “I SAID MOVE!!.” He yelled at Faro again, he had nothing more than revenge on his mind, Soul almost took his life so it was time to even the score. “Man she can’t fight you.” Faro began, Pwn took out one of his axes and aimed it. There was a couple of seconds where nobody moved, no one blinked. No one said a thing, Pwn readied the axe back and forth. “Fuck it. I can’t do this.” “I can’t stare at the face of innocence and strike her down.” He said as he turned and walked away. Faro looked at him confused, but he guided Chell to turn around. They walked a couple of steps before Chell fell into him, her body pressed against his before it came crashing to the ground. “Fucker.” Faro swore as he gaped at the Maneater lodged into the back of her skull.

Ballista IV

Water rushed through Jugner Forest at a rapid pace, sending Rooghan and Biofao in its tides. Roo’s body crashed along the side of the cliff, his heart stuttered and then it finally stopped. Bio’s Ancient Magic was a lot stronger than his, he swallowed his defeat. “God Damn it.” Falk sighed as she noticed another casualty with Roo defeated. “There goes the BST and BLM.” She said as she took her aim on Mrstaz. She had taken one too many steps toward Drakk and Falk decided that if she takes one more it will be her last. She looked around as though she knew she had eyes on her, and that’s when she spotted Falk in the distance, crossbow raised chest level, aiming between her eyes. She timidly stopped in her tracks, she threw up her hands as if she surrendered. Falk continued to hold her aim. She heard something being chanted behind her, she twist her head and gasped. “FFS.” She cried under her breath as Tazzy conjured under a strong tornado. She watched as the wind whipped and howled around him, then he stopped. Fant had casted Silence on him, and by the graces of Altana it had stuck. They shared blow after blow, swords rung off of each other as the friends dueled with pride. Batt whipped his blade to Aur’s neck and Aur raised his shield to block it, it clanged off the metal, back and forth they went, never actually one upping each other. When their swords met again, it was Batt the smarter one, he lunges his shield into Auron’s skull, the hit was unexpected and it knocked him backwards. He thrust the sword into his torso, piercing his Paladin armor. He flinched from the sting of his blade, but he regained himself and stood back up. A determined look on his eyes as he smiled at Batt, who had a grin on his face. He had finally gotten the best of his good friend. He raised his sword and once again the blades danced off each other. Pwn’s back was against the wall, he was trapped, cornered. He had more muscle than his foe. But Fico was crazy. He swung his axe and he ducked, he swung again and it hit Pwn in his tail as he tried to roll out of the way. He became enraged, he blocked Fico’s next attack and the one after, Fico swung his axes nonstop as if they were lightweights. He never seemed to tire, he had too much aggression inside of him. The force Fico swung the axes with was hard enough to knock one of Pwns out of his hand. A blade hit Fico in the back of the neck, Links looked down at him shocked, she didn’t know if she had killed him or not. She didn’t think she would be strong enough to defeat Fico, but she knew she could take his vision off Pwn until he was able to gather himself. Pwn grabbed his axe off the ground, he dusted the Maneater and turned his attention to the fellow Warrior bent over in pain. He raised his hands to strike before he noticed what was in the distance. “Run.” He turned to Links and said as Soul let his Sidewinder release from his bow. She stared at him confused before the deadly arrow struck her, it entered the side of her neck and flew out the other. He gasped as she hit the ground, and he looked back at Soul who had his aim on him, he took off running as fast as his Galkaan legs would let him. “Coward.” Bluegirl screamed at Bigby, who had his daggers equipped and he twirled them in a circle. “How so, I’m just the smarter fighter.” He said as he peered at her. She kept a close eye on his hands, he wouldn’t be able to take her by surprise again. “That was low.” She spat out at him. “This is Ballista love, no such things as cheapshots.” She had heard enough, she took her fighters stance. Before she could blink he flung his dagger at her, it knocked her to the ground. “You always let me get the first step on you Blue.” He said as he removed his dagger from her body. “You shouldn’t make this so easy.” He said as he stood atop her. “Oh, I won’t.” she said as she fiddle in her bag for something Tone had given her for today, she laid the Clear Blood Broth on the ground and used her whistle. Coming over the hill Big noticed and that’s when panicked. “You whore.” He thrust the daggers down onto her, she threw her shield up as a prayer and it caught his daggers, they almost splintered it into two. “Fuck.” He cried as he tried to pull them out before Lifedrinker Lars made his way towards his master. Rogue ducked the Samurais Katana, she rolled to her side trying to avoid any harm. Supreme didn’t let her attacks stop though, she was upset when she discovered Links and Unreal were defeated. She wanted to hack away everyone, killing a weapon Vol wasn’t satisfying enough for her, she needed more. She spotted Rogue running after Chall had freed himself from the tree and that’s when she approached her, intent on killing her. She blinded Supreme with a spell, and hope it helped her caused that she was swinging the heavy weapon blindly. She stoneskinned herself and prepared herself to fight, or die trying.

Stella took a look at the carnage around her, the fighting, and the deaths. She saw not only her husband, but her good friend defeated. She choked back tears as she held her sword in her hand. She saw Bio, Roo, Vol, everyone defeated. Her mind began to warp as she wondered how the bounce back from this would be. Mythic might not be together much longer, if this hatred continues. She knelt besides Drakk’s body, she touched his face, she knew she had a bright red target slapped onto her back if she tried to raise him. So she didn’t, she just let her glove hand run across his face. She heard a leaf crunch behind her and she turned her head to the side. Rikio glared at her, her swords equipped. Stella arched her back before she stood. She had no more will to fight anymore, she was ready to call an end to the battle. She turned to tell Rik to back off before she saw Rik used Diamondhide on herself. She peered at the Taru’s face hidden behind the Optical Hat. “If we must.” Stella sighed as she let her blade careen off of Rik’s. Twylight had snuck over towards him, she glared at his face. She went a distance and she began to cast Raise. She knew she could get into all type of trouble for it, but he was the closest friend she had on here and she wouldn’t let him be defeated. It was a matter of life and death, his timer was down to ten minutes. She had chanted long enough and finally it was cast. He rose to his feet, and looked around for someone to thank. “I got you, like I said… Always.” Twy said as she bowed to Tone and snuck away. She knew she was going to be labeled as a traitor and she didn’t care, some people were worth more than a countries allegiance. “What a little…” Undyingsoul said as he readied his aim, friend or not, he was going down. He peeked out of his hiding spot to see if Stu was anywhere in sight, he knew if he stood up to long he might never breath again. Stu and Soul had a nice Ranger standoff going, but Stu had been quiet for a couple of minutes and Soul worried he was going to be ambushed. But he was infuriated at what he saw. He let the arrow fly from his bow, striking Tone in the back of the head. He fired again and again until the Beastmaster dropped again. “She fucking raised him.” He told Chell from her hiding spot. “Who?” she asked, she wasn’t paying attention. “Twy’s a fucking traitor.” He screamed at her, he couldn’t believe it. She had her back against the rock, as Soul ducked his head back down with her. “That fucking sucks.” She cried angrily. Soul looked up and fired his bow again. “I know right, what the hell is her problem. She better move to Bastok.” He said as he fired another arrow into the group of Bastokians. “I can’t believe.” He said before he stopped, blood splattered onto his face. He wiped it off with his hands and fired another shot blindly. “They going down.” He told Chell as he shot. “Chell.” He said when she didn’t respond, he gasped at the arrow lodged into her neck. “Shit.” “Faro Faro!” Soul cried for someone to come help her, he couldn’t call Twy because he’d probably kill her. Farozan ran to his side and gagged, “Don’t touch it.” Soul yelled, “Just cure her please.” And Farozan did as he was asked, playing the medic to Chell whose health was draining away. “Eye for an eye.” Undyingsoul said as he widescanned the area and picked out his target. “Try to hit me where it hurts, I can do the same.” He said justified. He knew Stu was the one who tried to kill Chell. Just threw up his fist to block Chall’s Katana, while it had hurt, it sure beats being dead. Chall had stalked him like a buzzard, he saw the pain Unreal inflicted and he pounced at the open opportunity he had in front of him. Just barely got out of the way as Chall’s blade cut the earth. He landed a punch onto Chall, and another, his body wasn’t meant to take these kinds of hits. As big as Just is, his fist hitting Chall felt like boulders being crashed into his body. He backed away from him, his mind woozy, he swung his katana vigorously. He cried out in pain as it ripped through his body, Just stared in awe, and then he burst into laughter. “Are you okay?” he stopped to ask as the katana pierced Chall’s flesh. She had her daggers at his eye level, without his magic he was useless and sadly he knew it. He tried to counteract by fighting with his staff, but all that did was infuriate Falk and by him some more time to live. Tazzy had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. His choices were face death or Warp. With Falk distracted his wife managed to get Drakk up, but he had to run to safety inside of his weakened state.

Ballista III

“Do we take five steps, turn around and nuke each other?” Rooghan said to Drakkonis. “Your call, Lastokian.” He smirked. Jugner Forest was empty tonight, not many passerby’s wandered through. It was time, the moment they have been waiting days for, time to Ballista. “Your ass is mine.” Justcartilage stared at Tonerith. “Time for a roll call.” Stella said, clearing her voice. “When you hear your name, step to your side.” “Representing San’D’Oria. Drakkonis, Stellaluna, Bigby, Elvane, Volarion, Undyingsoul, Justcartilage, Xchelly, Khomet, Littletazman, Mrslittletazman, Biofao, Fico, Farozan, Rogue, Twylight, Auronffx, Jak and Xantoro.” Stella announced and her troops took their place behind her. “Go Asstok.” Drakk said with a laugh as Tone took the stage, “Representing Bastok.” “Tonerith, Rooghan, Scorpionsys, Rikio, Tashihyu, Falkinn, Sturyko, Links, Suprememogwai, Unrealdjj, Drtran, Pwninator, Challenger, Fantazye, Kairos, Kinnette, Bluegirl, Battosai and Riquelme. And when there names were called, they stepped behind the Beastmaster. “Rules.” Stella said as she looked at Tone. “If someone is knocked unconscious, it is up to their own country to Raise them, we will not spare any Raises.” “Sorry Tone.” Chell had to have a laugh, she has raised Tone more than she did her husband. “Keep the fight clean, and may the better country win.” Stella continued. “But most importantly…” “Leave your anger and hatred here, after tonight I want no more fighting in our shell. It is making me irate.” “Agreed?” Everyone shook their head in unison. With that Stella turned away and her troops sat on the other side of the forest awaiting the cue to start. Sweat dripped off of her forehead, she was nervous. She really pondered what good would this do, but she was angry and upset so she was all for it. “We have the White Mages.” Soul did a triumphant cry. Stu loaded his bow with arrows, he sat behind the tree, his aim across the battlefield, waiting to slow down anyone who had advanced onto his position. “Hey you, want a job, help me out.” Tone laid out some seedbed soil and a funguar came to his side. He peered across the forest at everyone, all his friends, and now all his enemies. “I’m saving Hundred Fists for you.” Just pointed at him as he yelled. Tone cringed a little, he imagine being on the other end of that onslaught. Vol casts Cocoon. He stared at his brother, a little satisfaction in his face. Everyone who could have used shadows cast them immediately. Soul sat atop the hill, his aim was dead set, the minute the gun fired for them to start, Bastok would have one person being filled with arrows. Bluegirl had CourrieCarrie come to her side and she hugged him, and wished him good luck. The White Mages all Reraised themselves. Pwn’s axes shook in his hands. “Tone, let’s see how a lolblm does.” Khom jeered from his position. “I hope you like being asleep.” Roo nodded his head to Tone, hopefully what those two had planned will work. Pwn heard a soft and enticing melody being played in the background and he turned to smile at Riq. With his Katana in his hand, Chall looked up at the opposing forces for the first time, he wasn’t sure if he was ready for this.

Pop! They heard the gun sound off and that’s when they took off. Just took the liberty of going after the fungus that came from behind him trying to attack. As he laid his fist into it, a pain in his back causes him to stop. Tone had his axe swinging without a care, and when Just turned to punch him, he blocked it with his shield. The funguar kicked at his legs, and that’s when he turned to see it run off, chasing the Ranger who fired upon it. “Over Here!” Stella yelled as she Provoked Tone, who had no choice but to do a fight with her. He ordered his pet to attack, but it wasn’t in range to hear his words. Stella swung her sword and it cut him on the hand, he tried to block her next one and it hit him in the wrist. He screamed as the pain shot through his body. Just tried to add a punch in but a crossbow bolt struck him in the leg and his vision became blurred. Falk sighed as she bought Tone just enough time to recover and focus on Stella. Stu moved from behind the tree, he fired an arrow rapidly into the distance and took cover as one shot by him, barely missing him. Soul looked up from the rock he was taking cover behind, and fire another arrow blindly towards Stu. Pwn had laid an axe into Stella’s back, turning her attention to him, he ducked her angry swing and then his eyes shut on his as Drakk put him to sleep. “Roo.” Stella cried as she noticed the grin on Rooghans face. As a cold gust swept through the area as Blizzaga II was cast. It took its effect and Stella and Drakk took a knee, and Pwn bowed to Roo. Chell looked to her side nervously, she was standing next to Faro and Twy. They knew they were a target, but they just didn’t know when. They had Bigby watching from a distance, looking out for them if anyone came near. “Shit.” He swore and caused them to scramble as the crab broke its way through. He fired his bolts at it, but he kept missing. He took his aim, and took a breath and fired it again, this time it bounced off of its shell and it turned to attack him. “Stupid BST.” He said as he readied to slaughter this crab. “Stupid THF” Blue said as she cut Big across the wrist with her axe. He cursed and turned away from her, he dropped to his knee. “Blue.” He began to plead. “I don’t want to fight you, it’s nothing personal.” He said with his back turned to her. “We’ve been too good of friends for this.” She put her axe on its holster. “You’re right, friendly truce?” she asked as she extended her arm to help him up. A crossbow bolt flew through her neck and she gasped for air. “Stupid BST.” He said again as he got up and used Flee, taking off full speed across the area. “Damn that was evil.” He laughed to himself. Rogue took her stand by the tree, and for some reason, she ducked. Chall’s Katana became lodged into the wood, and he tried to pull it out but it was jammed in there too deep. She took out her club and beat him over the head with it repeatedly, taking advantage of his mistake. The wind kicked up all around Tone, and he wondered why. He looked around and that’s when he saw him. Khomet was conjuring up a Tornado. “Doc, Roo!” He shouted as Doc stunned Khom’s Ancient Magic. “Shit bro.” Doc cried out to Tone as a warning, Littletazman began casting Burst II. Tone sprinted out of range and prayed that the Taru didn’t get enough concentration to fry him to a crisp. His feet picked up speed before he felt a pain in his abdomen. “Going somewhere?” he stared up at Justcartilage. “I’ve been waiting for this.” Just used Hundred Fist. Blow after blow sunk into Tone’s body, shattering bones as his fist rapidly beat him to a pulp, he continued until he pummeled Tone onto the ground, and even then his onslaught continued. Tone looked into his eyes as a burst of lightning struck from the heavens sucking out his last breath. Liltazzy jumped for joy near Khomet, and their plan had worked. Just nodded to them and walked off to find someone else to rape. “Shit.” Falk scanned the battlefield to find Tone unconscious.

As Kairos drew near, Khom smirked as he began casting Flare II. He laughed, but he tried not to do it too hard that he breaks his concentration, he knew for a fact that Kair couldn’t survive this, he was too weak. Claws ripped him apart and broke his focus on his spell, when he finished his recoil he turned to face Rikio. She pointed her Ifrits Blade at him, and then she stabbed him. Pwn had stood atop Drakkonis, and let his axes come crashing down to the earth. Drakk couldn’t get out of the way, he was defeated. A Red Mage was no match for a Warrior in a head to head fight, but Drakk wouldn’t turn away. Chell rushed over to him, and backed away as Pwn stared at her, daring her to bring him back. He equipped his axes and glared into her eyes. “Soul.” She shouted, as Pwn ran towards her he tripped. Bigby dashed through in the blink of an eye and used his daggers to cut down the limbs of his bigger foe. “The bigger they are, the dumber they fall.” He had a laugh. “The smaller they are, the eviler they become.” Blue said as she turned to face Big. Fico and Batt were battling it out, Fico was stronger by chance, but Batt could take the hits. Batt was wearing Fico out before Vol interrupted. His Mandilur Bite annoyed Batt, but nothing he could do but try to hold his own against the two. “Stop!” Auron screamed as he ran towards his friend. Fico and Vol halted their attacks. “It’s time you face me.” He unsheathed his sword and challenged his friend. Fant did her job of curing Batt as best as she could, with the extra help. He provoked Auron and used Berserk. Fico decided to let the friends battle it out. Chell’s Raise was broken midcast as an arrow whizzed past her face, causing her to jump and break. “That’s my fucking wife.” Soul yelled from his hiding spot, he fired another arrow towards Stu. “I don’t care mate, she try to raise him again and my next one won’t miss.” Stu yelled, his hiding tree was full of Soul’s arrows, most of which he took and fired back at him. They both had their own pain, Stu had hit Soul in his shoulder when he popped his head up too fast, and Soul had caught Stu in the leg. “Chell, go somewhere.” Soul had to call her off, he wasn’t taking the risk of calling Stu’s bluff. As Roo tried to Raise Tone, he was stunned. Bio wouldn’t allow that to happen. He laughed at the Taru. And at the same time, they both started casting Flood. They sat there, challenging each other, they will see who was the strongest soon enough. Just laid his fist in Unreal, pounding into he was hit with a sedative. Falk once again bout someone some time to live as her sleep bolt knocked Just out like a light. Unreal tapped Just on the shoulder. Unreal used Mijin-Gakure. An inferno burned through Just’s body, he was down, but he wasn’t out. Vol crept up behind the Black Mages, a smile spread on his face as Tashihyu and Drtran didn’t hear him arrive. “Long Live SANDY.” Vol shouted as he emerged in front of them and then used Self-Destruct. From his weakened spot on the ground, he smiled to himself. Even their Stoneskin couldn’t fully protect them from that surprise attack. Tash sprawled on the ground, she leaned over to Doc and he was still up and kicking also, he was just hurt. Supreme let her blade hack into the weakened Vol, he took his defeat with pride.

Ballista II

“Who do we have?” Rooghan asked, he scanned the linklist of Bastokians. “Chall, Fal, Stu, Tone, Riq, Kairos, Fantazye, Pwn, Kinn, Scorp.” Rooghan read the list off to himself. He was thinking of who else was there. “And who do they have?” Chall asked, sitting nervously in his chair. Rooghan laughed, “Just, Stella, Drakk, Soul, Chell, Vol, Big, Faro, Auron.” He read off most of the names. They were sitting in Bastok Mines, preparing as Friday seemed to blow past them. Before they knew it, they would go to sleep tonight, and tomorrow emerge as champions they believed. Every word spoken in the linkshell had a bitter tone behind it. It seems as thought the Windurstians weren’t safe either, Stella had made the announcement that if you are from Windy that you had to pick a side to fight along with. She promised that no grudges would be held upon those who decided to go fight for Bastok, she figured they needed all the help they could get. She didn’t want it to get this far, because she feared after the battle, things wouldn’t get better, only worse. Both sides have way too much pride and before she knew it, she figured they would fight once a week. “Roo you got to play medic.” Tone told him. “Sure if you play Refresh whore.” He laughed, Tone shook his head no. “I want to blow them up.” He said with an evil grin spread on his face. “You get that jug yet?” Roo asked him, Tone casually smiled at him, he had a secret weapon in his bag. “Prick their Elvaan loving asses.” Chall jumped up excitedly. “Are you two okay with this?” Tone turned to Fant and Kair, they were really new to the shell, and now they were lacing up their gear for a fight. They nodded their head, ready or not it seemed like they didn’t have a say so in the matter. Chall took today to train Kairos in the art of using a Warrior in a fight, and Tone helped Fant realize that as a Red Mage, her buffs will be her best friends. “Who is the biggest problem?” Soul said as he puffed on his substance, he was toasted tonight, because tomorrow he wouldn’t impair his ability to help his team. Last thing they need is Soul plucking arrows at them. He laughed at the thought. “Nine times out of ten, Roo is going Black Mage.” Stella looked at her troops. “Then you have the Beastmaster.” Just nodded. “I’ll rape his pets, you rape him.” He was still looking to break even with Tone after the last encounter they had, they were good friends, but haven’t spoken since that day. “And finally Stu and Chall.” “Chall?” Vol laughed. Soul patted him on the back, he was laughing right along with him. “He’s a Samurai, I wouldn’t count him out.” “And Stu has deadly aim.” Soul let them know. “The guy can shoot.” They were going over their battle plan, because tomorrow they would not take a defeat. “But Chall?” Vol shook with laughter, “He’ll prolly swing it so hard trying to impress people that he would cut himself.”

“Hundred Fists is a nasty move.” Tone reminds them to fear Just’s two hour ability. “If he get that to go off, we in trouble.” “Then what about Soul?” Stu looked at them and asked. “Stay away from Stella, she can take the hits.” Rooghan advisied, “Go after the mages.” He laughed, knowing that he is going to be a target himself. “We fighting to the last man standing?” Kairos asked with the adrenaline pumping through his veins. “Is it wrong that we kill Chell?” Riq asked, he had been silent most of the meeting. “We love Chell to death, but she’s fair game.” Tone said and Riq shook his head in agreement. Riq was playing the assist role, playing melodies that will hopefully help them win the battle. “So… we take out Just, Drakk, Chell, Faro…” Fant recounted what she had learned. “I have three more people from Bastok that float between linkshells, want me to bring them?” She looked up and asked. “Jobs?” Roo asked. “Ninja, Samurai and a Warrior, but like me, they’re not that strong.” “Suprememogwai, Links and Unrealdjj.” She finished. “Any help is greatly appreciated.” Stu and Fal nodded. “Get them, I’ll try to call Pwn and see if he still is down for this.” The floaters of the LS didn’t have to fight. Tone smiled as he noticed who was walking through the town of Bastok. Two of them, one was permanent, the other a floater. Tashihyu waved with Rikio by her side. He ushered them to him, Rik was a Blue Mage and Tash was a Black Mage, he dialed up some favors from them seeing as how they were/still are in shell, that made them eligible. “Let’s show these asses why they are called Lastok.” Drakk raised his beer cup and toasted with Soul. “Ok guys, we have the battle plan, everyone get some rest and gather up in the morning. Tomorrow we send the point home.” Stella nodded to Bio and Fico, two Windurstians who have sided with Sandy. With that, they headed out for home. Tomorrow would be the epic battle. Bastok Vs. Sandy, time to put up or shut up…

Ballista

The tensions were brewing this morning, the after effect of a conversation gone awry. It seemed as if the linkshell was divided, people from one nation only spoke to their own kind. It had been a horrible night before, there has never been so much fussing in Mythic. Voices were raised, and insults were thrown, and the end of it all left them bitter inside. Friendships took a backseat for pride. One nation, under Altana can rule each and every week. The argument was what nation was better, the citizens of San’d’Oria felt as though they always reigned supreme, given the fact that Mythic started, well in it’s old shell, as a Sandy only shell. Then the people from Bastok began to pour into it, it was a welcoming gesture because friendships don’t apply to any one nation. They have become a melting pot of the three nations, Windurst folks piled inside of the place that people call Mythic. It was great, but there were always tension that brewed whenever the results were tallied. “Oh my god, what a surprise.” Drakkonis began, looking up at the scoreboard overtop of the Auction House. “Lastok.” He laughed to himself. Sandy once again had control over the world, and he loved to rub it in. The people of Sandy did a triumphant cry, and the members of Bastok seethed a little inside. Windy played it natural, this was their second straight week coming in second. “That makes how many third place finishes for Asstok Tone?” Drakk turned to his friend and asked. Tone looked at him but he didn’t reply. “I think that’s six… no seven.” Undyingsoul said with a laugh. “Gay.” Was all Tone could mutter. “It’s okay… I told you to move to the best country in the world ages ago.” Drakk began. “Now why would I move to a shitty place like that?” Rooghan said as he overheard their conversation. “Because we’re better than you.” Soul laughed, resting his hand on Tone’s shoulder, he jerked his body away from him. “What is in that desert town named Asstok anyway?” Drakk turned to Tone and asked. “Oh right, Alchemy, you get to mix potions with the losers.” He said noting the Alchemy guild where Tone was currently studying. “We can kick the chit out of you anyday.” Was all he replied, his face on the scoreboard, looking at where Bastok has finished last for the seventh straight week. “You guys wished.” Soul said, with his wife Xchelly looking on. “Why do you guys suck so bad?” Drakk’s wife Stellaluna decided to get in on the joke. “Because how can you fight for a country that has the population of like twenty people?” Justcartilage asked, it was a linkshell meeting inside of Ru’Lude Gardens, and everyone inside the shell was to report. They had bigger matters to discuss, but that was sidetracked when the winners were announced. Kairos looked on, nervous, he wanted to speak his mind, but being new he stayed quiet, him and Fantazye just took it all in good graces. Bio and Fico enjoyed in on the laughter, they weren’t winners, but they weren’t losers either. They hailed from the town of Windurst, so that made them break even. “Can we discuss the matter at hand?” Tone decided to ask. “You’re from Lastok, you sit and are quiet.” Drakk had another laugh. Stella told him to knock it off, before it gets out of hand, and she was ready to make her ls announcement. “Okay, this is what I have planned. A lot of people need things to be done, and I say we devote one day coming up to working on it. That goes for prommies, Avatars and anything else. If anyone needs their Artifact they need to speak up and we will try to arrange people to assist you.”

At that moment Drakk raised his hand. Stella sighed but she let him speak, she knew something smart was going to come out of his mouth. “Can we not let the members from Asstok go?” The Bastokians turned to him, “Because with all their suckiness I’m sure we will all just die or they will get us killed so we can lose some Sandy conquest points.” Stella regretted letting him speak, but before she could calm the situation down, it blew out of hand. “Fuck off.” Falkinn yelled from her seat, Sturyko had to restrain her back. Soul and Drakk had a laugh together, it was all in good humor they thought. “Well how the fuck do you win, Soul dies daily.” Roo spat. Soul rolled over on his side “True Strike.” “But still… we…. Win.” “Guys let’s not get personal.” Stella tried to calm it down. “Did we anger you guys, if so… then I’m sorry.” Drakk said sincerely. “No… I get snappy at...” Falk began before Drakk finished with “Sorry you guys suck so goddamn badly.” He laughed again, Falk nostrils flared. She jumped up and pointed her Dagger towards him. “I’ll cut you.” She yelled, some of the shell members began to look a little startled. “Falk…” Stella tried to calm her down, but the look in Falk eyes told her it wouldn’t be easy. “Bab.” Stu called to her, her knife near Drakk’s throat. Drakk eyes grew big with excitement, and then it turned into anger. “Get that out of my face.” He said, his voice as serious as it has ever been. “I don’t need to take shit from you Sandy assholes.” She replied, not removing her aim on his throat. “All you guys do is give us chit, Lastok this, Lastok that.” Tone spat out, he always gets a little edgy when he has to defend his nation. “And flat out, I’m sick of it.” “Tone…” Chell and Stella called to him at the same time. “Just take the joke bro.” Just said, placing his hand on Tone’s shoulder. He smacked his hand away, “I can, but not today.” A newly sober Just meant a quicker tempered Just, had he been drunk he wouldn’t have minded Tone’s attitude. “Stop crying like a bitch Tone.” He fought back. “Every week, you guys fucking suck, it’s not our fault.” Just finished. “Do we now?” he turned to him and asked, he laid out a jug filled with blood and a Diremite came to its master. “Tone…” Chell began, she really hated spiders. “Scary.” Just laughed, he tried to pet it but it hissed at him, legs arched as if he would attack. “Tone.” Bluegirl snapped at him to restrain his pet. “Tone call your pet off now!” Stella ordered, her voice carried loudly, so loud that the people who were passing by heard her. She didn’t like airing their drama out for the world to see. With the spider in an attacking position, Just stood up and stomped his powerful leg down on it. Before it could attack Soul blasted it with arrows. Stella turned her attention to the angry Beastmaster. “That shit was uncalled for.” She scolded him. “We won’t tolerate that shit in here.” She said to him, her voice above a whisper, but everyone there heard her. Tone didn’t say a word to him, he just got up and moved to the other side, followed by the rest of the Bastok nation that called Mythic home. There they sat divided. “That was fucking low bro.” Just spat out after taking his seat, his face puffed due to anger. “Call a GM or stop bitching.” Tone cursed, he knew if a GM was called then he was going to be banned for the offense.

“If we can’t settle this kindly…” Stella began. “If Drakk can’t refrain from being a dick.” Falk spat. Almost in a mocking tone. “I know Drakk can be rough but watch what you say.” Stella defended her husband, she was becoming annoyed. “You need to control his mouth.” Challenger said, his brother Volarion hailed from Sandy, but yet in still, they were divided. “No one needs to watch…” he began before his wife stopped him. “Is it really that serious, that was the lowest you could’ve stooped Tone, I’m very pissed you would try to attack a fellow shell member, not only that, a friend.” Stella said in a calm tone. “You just made it personal bro.” Just glared at him from across the room. “We were only joking.” Soul said, trying to calm the tensions down. “Fuck that.” Tone said. Stella walked over to his side of the room. “Beware, you come close to me, you may suck.” He mocked her husband. “Let’s not make this personal.” She said as she looked down on him sitting in his chair. “Too late.” He replied stubbornly. He got up to face her, they sat face to face. “Take a seat.” She didn’t like being opposed, she was up for criticism and she could take it, but she doesn’t like being disrespected. He poked her Paladin chest-plate with his finger. “I just touched a God.” “Tone, for the last time.” She grabbed his finger and twisted it, “Take a seat.” He shoved her away, and that’s when Drakkonis hit him, it took him off guard. Sturyko shoved Drakk away, and before they knew it, Mythic was up and scuffling. “Enough!!” Stella yelled at the top of her lungs. Everyone stopped fighting and turned their heads to her. “I didn’t want to do this, but I have to.” She said in between breaths. She shoved Tone in the chest one last time. “You got a problem with Sandy, then beat us.” She yelled as she pushed him. “You all want to prove that we can kick your ass, I wanted to spare your feelings, if that’s the case.” Stella huffed. “I hate to have my fucking home divided and fighting, this shit is driving me crazy.” “Get your fucking daggers, get your swords and your axes, Tone bring your pets.” “Saturday Night... Jugner Forest… San’d’Oria vs. Bastok… Ballista.” “Leave your pride on the battlefield.” She said as she stormed off. Everyone sat up, a gleam in their eyes. Bastok rejoiced, they wanted this, to fight. Now it was time to rally the troops and prepare for Saturday night. They sat as a home divided….

The Howling IV

Stella had to react quickly as her eyes searched for Fico. He had got off of his bird and stood behind Auron, he clenched his axe in his hands. He wasn’t prepared to fight him, just stall him until Stella had enough time to gather herself and reach town. He felt once inside the town wall Auron couldn’t reach her and she would be safe. Auron walked towards her on all fours as she sat too horrified to move. Auron curled his lips back and showed off his teeth. Stella’s eyes drifted towards Fico as he slowly crept up behind him. He didn’t know what it was he was going to do, and he knew he was risking his life even attempting it. Before he knew it he provoked Auron and he turned his head to face him. Fico motioned for Stella to run but she seemed too petrified to try. Auron stood up as he stared at Fico, his anger boiling over inside of him. He wanted to finish the Warrior once and for all so that he didn’t pester him anymore. His claws lunged out at Fico who countered with his axe. “Stella move!” he yelled as he struggled to keep the beast off of him, he wasn’t in any shape after the last encounter with Auron to encounter him again. “Fico stop!” She yelled as she stood on her feet. She unsheathed her sword and glared at the red fur on Aurons body, her face twisted with disgust. “It is me he wants.” She said as she readied her shield before she provoked him. “I want power.” Auron said with a snarl as his claws knocked Fico’s axe to the ground rendering him defenseless. “Power?” she looked at him and asked. “Leadership brings power. Hand me your shell.” He said as he looked at Fico, he motioned towards him and Stella got the idea. He threatened Fico’s life if she didn’t go with his idea. She couldn’t let her shell be lead by someone in Auron’s frame of mind, it was too dangerous. “What made you like this?” Stella asked and Auron looked at the full moon. His body shook as he basked in the moonlight. “A poison.” He replied as he turned his body towards her. He began to take steps toward her and with each step she cowered a little inside. “I’m sorry.” Kairos said to Bio again as they ran through Jugner Forest. “Shut up already.” Bio said patiently, if he apologized again he was going to rip his jaw out. “I just want to make sure Stella is safe.” Bio said as his feet kept pace with Kairos’s chocobo. The moonlight hit his back and he took a moment to bathe in it. His fur shining with glimmer as Kairos looked on quietly. “So I take it you’re a good werewolf.” He finally said as Bio began to take off again. He slapped his chocobo to keep up. Bio ran on all four legs to pass as a Notorious Monster wolf if he was ever spotted by another person and he would just snarl at them and run their way and hope they took off and didn’t try to kill them. He laughed at the idea that Kairos had. He wanted him to scare his friend into thinking he was aggro’d by an unbeatable monster and watch him cower for his life as Bio played with him. If Stella’s life wasn’t in jeopardy then the humorous side of Bio would have agreed to go along with it. He saw the exit and smelled Auron’s scent and he picked up his speed.

“You can’t have my shell.” Stella said with tears rolling down her eyes. She had a mouthful of dirt as Auron sent her crashing to the ground when she objected to naming him leader. She whimpered because Fico lay next to her defeated. Auron’s anger struck ablaze and he assaulted him because Fico interfered. All it took was a couple of swipes before he brought the Warrior down and Fico didn’t put up much of a fight. Blood marks where left on Stella’s face where Auron swiped her. “I don’t want to kill you.” She recalled him saying before he struck her. She had a mixture of blood on her, some of it hers and some of it belonged to Fico. “Please, let’s do this the easy way.” Auron glanced at her and said as she clutched her sword in her hand. She shook her head again and he lunged on top of her, she threw her diamond shield up and he almost made it cave in. He reached his mouth out for her neck and she squirmed out of the way. “Grr.” He said as his claws ripped into her skin causing her to cry out in pain. His ears perked up and his body went berserk again. He drove his claws through her neck leaving a wound the size of an apple through her neck. He waited for her to bleed to death. He didn’t want it to get this far but he felt as though he had no choice at the moment. He looked down into her Mithran eyes and turned and ran away. “Shit.” Kairos said as they approached the figures on the ground. “Too late.” Bio said angrily. “Go in town and get someone out here to raise these two.” Bio ordered at the shooken Kairos. He was a wreck looking at Auron’s destruction. “You got less than an hour. Move it.” Bio said as Kairos stepped through the gates and entered Upper Jeuno. Bio led his grip of Stella go and her body fell to the ground again. He moved over to Fico and looked at him. He decided it was time to go after this rogue wolf before he tried to run Mythic. Bio had to hold a team meeting, but he couldn’t in this form. With the moon shining brightly he wouldn’t be able to be a Taru again. He was stuck, inform the shell or run after Auron….

The Howling III

“What? What? What?” Stellaluna stared at Fico. Her ears seemed to have been deceiving her. “What?” she shook Fico in her hands, she hated to see a grown man tremble. “You have to go.” He stammered as he answered her. She stared at him blankly again, she shook her head. “And why am I leaving?” she asked as he pushed her out the door. “It just isn’t safe.” He said as he rushed her out of her MogHouse. “Fico.” She said taking a stand, “What the hell is wrong with you?” She peered at him through his helmet. She knew Fico was as brave a Warrior as she had ever seen, but something had him choked up tonight. “It’s Auron.” He spoke lowly, people started to stare at the scene he was causing by shoving her out of her house, maybe they thought she was under arrest, either way, people stared nonetheless. “Auron?” she quizzed, “What about him?” Fico began to tell her, and then he stopped. He pondered exactly how to say what was on his mind, rather than saying it flat out. AURON WANTS TO MURDER YOU. He shook his head, no he couldn’t do that. Stella didn’t put up much of a fight, she grabbed her belongings and following Fico out of the gate to West Ronafure. “Where are we going?” she asked him, “Somewhere safe.” Was all he replied to her, they pushed ahead on their chocobos. When they entered the Plateau they decided to swap their old birds for newer ones. All the while they traveled Stella was looking to find out what about Auron had Fico shaky. “Tell me what’s going on.” She said as they entered near the crag. Fico got off of his bird and paid the fare to rent a new one. “I will soon.” “No.” she stomped her foot into the ground, “Tell me now or I am not getting onto this bird.” She sat stubbornly. Fico looked at her, ushering her to hurry up. “I mean it, I’m not riding anywhere until I know why I am running.” Fico sighed as he got off of his bird again. “You owe me 323 gil.” He laughed as he stood near her. He prepped himself to tell her what he knew, the encounter they had. Kairos looked around in the quiet night. People were starting to act different towards him, but he realized that was his own fault. What were people suppose to think when they tele here and see a grown man balled into the corner of the crag shaking. His fear was getting the best of him, it’s been nearly two hours and Auron hadn’t shown up yet. He realized that he wasn’t coming for him. It was a long way back to Bastok though, he decided maybe he would run back to Jeuno and call it a night in a rented room. So he dusted himself off, smirked at the onlookers and walked away, heading for the mountains, those damn dreaded mountains. As he zoned and took a step, his heart became wrenched with dread. He had a bad feeling about this, but he had to press on, Port Jeuno wasn’t that far away, he knew if he could just make it into a town he would be safe. So he ran, taking off down the pathway and rushing for the next zone. He stopped dead in his tracks as he saw it. “No.” his mind died out on him, leaving him standing there. He couldn’t function or think or get out of the way. He saw the wolf, and all he could do is tremble. Stella rolled on her side with laughter much to Fico’s demise. “Stella…” he said angrily, her gut seemed about to burst. “Oh my.” She laughed from her spot, banging her fist against the soft dirt as Fico told her the story. “Fico… I love you… but maybe you and Bio should lay off the drinks.” She said, stopping her laughter for a split second. She looked over his torn gear, and laughed again. “Nice prank you guys.” She said again. “I’m not lying, Auron is a werewolf, and Bio is too.” He said with a serious face, it was annoying him that she didn’t believe him. “Sure they are, and I bet they will jump out right now and say ‘Boo’.” She laughed again. “And shit, Just is the Easter Bunny and Tone is the tooth fairy.” She rolled on her side, despite his anger, Fico laughed at that one too. He grabbed her arm, “Stella, in all seriousness.” “Werewolves are a myth Fico.” “They aren’t real.” “And how did they become a werewolf? Overnight.” “That’s why we are going to Jeuno, we are going to that goblins shop that sold them the drinks.” He stated. “I think it had something to do with that, they both felt sick after drinking it.”

He swung his axe, and it cut him in the neck, a startling howl leaped out from his throat. Kairos continue to hack and slash, but no matter how many times he hit him, he could take it. “Please… Leave me alone.” He said as he backed away from the wolf. He crept closer and closer to him, each stepping making Kairos die inside. “Please.” He said again and again. The wolf jumped onto him, pinning him down onto the ground until he had nowhere to go, no room to squirm. “Stop hitting me.” He snarled, snapping his teeth to put emphasis on his words. “You can talk.” Kair looked up at him startled. “I’m not here to hurt you.” Bio said as he headbutted Kair. “So stop attacking me.” Kair had to regain his senses, and that had hurt him a great deal. “Stella is in danger and Fico too.” Bio snapped, his voice drawling because of anger. “So I would appreciate if you wouldn’t attack me.” Bio became irate, he was never this hot tempered before, and it must have come with the change. Being a wolf is hard if you don’t have control over your anger, you can hurt any and everyone without a care. “Now.” Bio said as he stood up and lifted Kairos with him. “Will you help me, or will you just get in my way.” He clenched him by his vest. His claws were sharp and he showed Kairos that by adding “If you stand in my way, I will have to dispose of you.” Kair swallowed the hard lump of spit that was caught in his throat. As their chocobos took off through Batallia Downs, they were almost at the zone for the town of Jeuno. Stella had stopped laughing at Fico, she didn’t believe him, but she thought it was really rude to laugh. “Fico…” Stella halted her bird, something she thought she saw in the distance terrified her. “We are almost there Stella.” He said as his chocobo continued. Still she stared behind her, she felt something following her. “Fico…” she yelled as she kicked her bird and it took off running. Fico looked behind him as the dark red fur that covered Auron’s body greatly approached them. “Go!” he shouted and Stella and her bird did just that. “For fuck sake you weren’t joking.” She screamed as her bird caught up with his. She looked behind her and saw nothing. She knew she saw it, and now it was time for her to become a believer in myths. “Where the hell did he go?” she asked as panic consumed her. She heard his howl, it shattered every thought in her head as fear really sunk into her chest. “I see it… Jeuno.” Fico yelled excitedly, he looked behind him one last time and Auron wasn’t anywhere in sight. Stella pressed her chocobo ahead, rushing, racing. Her chocobo let out a pained squeal, and before she knew it she was lying face first in the dirt, pain rushed to her face as she crashed head first. She lifted her head to see her yellow bird covered in dark red blood. Auron ripped it to shreds, and on its blood he drank. Stella trembled but she didn’t move because she couldn’t. She was too horrified at what she was witnessing. He lapped at the blood with his tongue and then he howled again and cocked his head in her direction. His teeth drenched in red blood. “Power.” He said as he looked at her, and she stared back at him confused….

The Howling II

Bio sped up his feet as fast as he could, running making sure he didn’t trip. He could hear Auron breathing behind him, he could feel his presence. He looked ahead of him, and Fico and Kairos was out of sight, nowhere to be found. Still he had to run, if he stayed he would sure make a nice dinner for someone. He felt a claw dig into his legs, he stumbled. “Just like a horror movie.” He said to himself as his laid on the ground. Auron stalked overtop of him, sniffed him. “Look…” Bio said as he looked Auron in his yellowish green eyes. “I’m…” he began before Aur snarled, saliva running off of his lips. Bio thought of a way to stall him, he sure didn’t want to die. “What happened to you?” he asked trembling from his spot on the ground. Auron cocked his head to the side, listening for something in the distance. He paid no mind to Bio, he used his senses to pick up a new scent. He then turned his head back to Bio, the innocent Taru looking mighty delicious on the ground. “Stay out of my way.” He growled at Bio, almost as if giving him a warning. With that, Auron took off in another direction. Bio got up and dusted himself off, sweat poured down his face even on the chilliest of nights, his fear made him sweat as if he was in the desert. His heart stopped and went so many times he thought he’d died and went to Taru Heaven, the place he always dreamed it would be, cluttered with half naked Mithras. He shook his head from his dream, his ears twitched, and he heard a noise. It sounded like something crashing, shattering in the quiet night air. He looked around him puzzled, he saw no one anywhere in sight. This freaked him out because he knows what he heard, but he couldn’t explain it because there was nothing to see. His stomach wailed a hungry growl, he didn’t understand it, he couldn’t be hungry, and it wasn’t possible. Kairos ran through the Canyon. He and Fico had parted ways near the zone, hoping that Auron would still be sleep and they could be way ahead of him where he arises from his slumber. Technically Aur wasn’t a monster, so they don’t know if the enmity rule is in effect for him, but seeing as how Bio slept him, all the anger would shift onto Bio. At least that’s what the hoped, sad for Bio, good for them. But his feet were steadily growing tired, he needed to rest his legs, he couldn’t help it. If Auron was on the hunt for him tonight, then surely he would catch him. With that, he stopped, he was at the Crag of Mea, he knows that he’s somewhat safe, because people come through here a lot, and at least he wasn’t by himself. He hugged up against the wall of the Telepoint. His body landed and crashed against the crates. Pain shot throughout his entire body as Aur stood atop of him. Fico looked with pain at the monster that Aur had become. He didn’t know how he found him, but all Fico remember is running, then he became airborne. Aur cut his lips back to reveal his teeth, he then let out a howl, a long deep bellowing sound, Fico grabbed his axe tightly, he had no choice but to try and fight him. Aur noticed that Fico heartbeat had changed, it was thumper a little faster, part of it was excitement, and the other was fear. He sulked around the Warrior, moving in a menacing circle, not taking his eyes off him. When Fico rose to his feet, that’s when Aur spoke. “Power.” Was all he said, and Fico stared at him puzzled. “I want power.” He snarled at him again. “You have it.” Fico stared at him and said.

Auron shook his head, “No… I want… power.” He said as he gazed at the moon. “I don’t know what made me like this, but it’s not going to stop, my body has been altered.” “And I want power…” was all Auron kept saying. “You have all type of power, werewolves have amazing strength.” Fico knew a little about the creatures that were suppose to be just a myth. “No… I want to be head of the pack.” He said as he snarled again. “Nothing will stand in my way of dominance.” The young wolf said. That’s when Fico caught on, and that’s when he readied his axes. His brain fluttered as he thought about what Auron meant. Werewolves are very dominant creatures, and they eliminate anyone who stands above them but are weaker than them. That’s when Fico realized what was on his agenda. He knew who Auron was going after…. Stellaluna. She was Mythic’s leader, and Auron was a part of her shell, but he wanted the dominance that carried the title of LS Leader. “You’ll be foolish to stand in my way.” Auron knew what was going on in Fico’s mind when he got himself ready for a fight. Being a werewolf takes a lot of control, you have to learn to control the urges when necessary. Auron’s claws ripped Fico’s Hauberk almost in half, shredding it, leaving his bare chest expose for Auron to make one quick deadly blow. He hoped it hasn’t come to this, but he couldn’t control himself, Fico was being more dominant than he, and that angered him. Although the beast has taken over inside of him. He hoped that he could not have to kill Stella, he hoped that she crowned him king peacefully. You stay out of my way, I stay out of yours. Auron lunged himself on top of Fico, who parried his claw by wielding his axes, catching Aur’s arm. He squirmed and tried to break free. Fico kicked Auron off of him, and rolled out of the way as his claw split the dirt. He scrambled to his feet and backed up as Auron stood to face him. He was backed into a corner, he had nowhere else to run. With his back pressed against the wall, Fico glared at him. He knew it was his time to go. He had put up a bit of resistance, but Auron was ten times stronger. Auron charged towards him. Auron picked up another scent, and that’s when he stopped, leaving Fico looking helpless. He sniffed, and on the inside Auron went Berserk. Fico didn’t know what caused the reaction that Aur was having, but he knew it bought him a little time. Auron scanned the area, he heard his footsteps. He didn’t see anyone but he knew someone was coming this way. He sensed another one of his kind drawing near. And that’s when Bio sprinted into view. His hair was gold and reddish brown, he grew a size or two bigger inside of his wolf form. With Bio by his side he returned his focus to Fico, who stared in terror at his longtime friend. He was one of them now, Bio growled at him, almost showing no sign of the closeness they once shared. Auron lunged his claws towards Fico’s throat, looking to kill him instantly. He then felt a pain in his neck, it stung him badly and he had to recoil. Bio snapped away at Auron, biting and biting at his neck as blood spattered out from his wound. “Get out of here.” Bio snarled at Fico, who shook his head and took off running. Bio ripped his claws through Auron’s chest. He then stared at him on the ground, he knew he wasn’t dead. Werewolves have a high metabolism and can heal from the nastiest of wounds quickly. But Bio knew it bought him time, and with that, he ran after Fico….

The Howling

“Crap.” Biofao said as he clutched his stomach, him and Auron went to the Goblin shop in Lower Jeuno for some Goblin drinks. “You have that pain in your stomach too?” Aur asked as he looked at him. Bio nodded, whatever it was they were given, it sure was a bad batch of it. Paxxtix had asked them what would they like to drink, and he said give me whatever the Goblin special is today, and boy did they regret it. He felt as though he would hurl, and he couldn’t be sick, he had an appointment to help out a member of the shell tonight. Auron felt as though his insides burned, “They gave us crap.” He reported to Bio. “Are you still going to make it tonight?” Bio looked at him and asked, his voice was woozy. “I’ll try.” Auron nodded, he closed his MH door and decided to just get some rest in for tonight. He knew later on he would go with Bio and Fico to help get Kairos an item from a NM drop. He wasn’t needed at all, but he wanted to go. Camping NMs was his idea of fun, and he loved the excitement. Bio stumbled to his MH and locked the door behind him, he would just rest up until Fico came and woke him. He couldn’t deny the sick feeling in his stomach, but he decided rest would be good. If not he would go back to the shop and asked them what happened, but he decided it was best to just avoid drama altogether. Kairos looked down at his watch, he sat inside of Port Jeuno, waiting on his new linkshell members to get here. He would be patient, they were doing him a huge favor as seeing as how this NM would demolish him. He ran past Justcartilage doing his usual Auction House crafting, he waved to him and they got into small talk before Just had to run off. So Kairos sat… and waited. He was new to the shell, new to the adventure, he was enjoying getting to know some of the people in there, they seemed good and they caused him no problems at all. He wanted to make Mythic his home, and he was ready to do that. He saw a lot of Mythic members running past him tonight, Tone was on his usual journey to Castle O and Soul and Chell were prepping for a party. Battosai ran past and he asked where Auron was and he said he hadn’t heard from him all day. That’s when he spotted the Taru, Biofao stood next to Fico as they made their way towards him, Bio moving with a bit of uneasiness in his step. “Ready?” Fico asked, Kair twisted his finger due to his nervousness. He didn’t want to seem like a burden but it would be a joy to get this item. “Yes… very ready.” Kair shook his head. It was predicted to be a full moon tonight, and legend has it that the drop rates on monsters increase under the full moon. When Bio clutched his stomach in pain Fico finally asked him what was wrong. Bio didn’t have an answer for him, he just knew that his stomach ached. “Eat too much?” Fico laughed, Bio didn’t say a word to him. Fico looked over Kair, he smiled at him, he was a young Warrior. When Auron made his way to the Chocobo stables they finally departed. They were going toward the Mountains and that’s where this NM is. Aur moved with the uneasiness in his step as Bio, he had explained that they took a bad mix of Goblin drink and they were feeling lightheaded.

As they setup camp, the moon phase was starting to take over, causing their camp to be bathed in the moonlight. “You guys okay?” Kair broke the silence and asked, he didn’t want them to be here if they weren’t feeling well, he could postpone this for a later date. Bio nodded he was going to be okay, the pain inside of him started to subside and was almost gone. Even Auron started to feel just a little bit better, he seemed a bit chipper now than when he strapped on that chocobo and headed out. “What we doing?” Auron finally decided to ask. “A NM here drops an item I need for a quest, it can net me 45k the item I get from it.” Kair shook his head with eagerness. His eyes were glinted with joy, he thought about the gil he was going to gain. He liked making money, mainly because he got to buy new gear, weapons and items. Bio took a seat, his face flushed inside of the campfire, they had slaughtered the goblins that stayed there and moved into their camp, it was chilly out tonight. He took a look up at the moon and his Taru ears twitched. The warmth of the fire made him feel better, the hot glow on his face made the rest of his body heat up. “How we pop this thing?” Fico looked at Kair and said. “When I pop him.” He hesitated before he answered. “But I have to do it…” he finished. In the back of his mind he knew he was safe, but then there was always a chance they may die. Something can always go wrong, but he pushed that away. “What are you waiting for?” Aur turned to him, his eyes gleamed in the light. Kair couldn’t admit to them that this was his first Notorious Monster, he’s never fought one before, just heard tales of others who have. He walked to the spot on the ground where the Undead NM would rise once he triggered it, his face showed his worry and Auron made him feel at ease. The moon fully set itself into place, the full moon was in effect and now was the best time to wake the undead. He triggered it, it was time to fight. Skelatal Lord sprung ready for action. Fico was the tank in this fight as he didn’t have any info on his foe and he figured that Auron might not be a strong enough tank to manage. Blow by blow, they were about even, and Bio played the role as backup healer or as Fico called him, his personal life saver. SL seemed a lot tougher than Fico had expected, but Aur and Kair added some melee and Bio made sure to Stun as many of the big moves that he could. SL used Blood Saber, taking the blood from the weak. Fico examined his ls mates, they were still in one piece. Then Auron dropped to his knee, he fell to the ground, knee buried in the dirt, shield on the ground. “Bio cure him.” Fico yelled and Bio assisted, trying to revive Auron back to full health. He cured as much as he could, but Auron never got back into the battle. Fico delivered Rampage and dealt the final blow, right between SL eyes with his twin axes. “Crap.” Kair shouted when the item didn’t drop, that means that would have to fight him again, he brought enough spawn items with him to trigger him twenty times if needed. Fico went to Aur’s aid, he leaned over his shoulder, Aur’s breathing was irregular. “We won.” He relayed the message to him, as if Aur wasn’t paying attention. He didn’t say anything to him, but his ears twitched as if to say he heard him. Pain shot through his entire body, he didn’t know what was happening, but all he knew is that he wanted to scream. Auron felt a rage building in him, he felt stronger through his pain. His senses picked up, his hearing got better, and he could hear two pairs of hearts beating, his and Fico’s. Fico went over and pulled on Aur’s shoulder, with the moonlight shining on it, Fico backed away.

He readied his axes, and it took Kairos and Bio off guard. “Fico?” Bio questioned, he didn’t a word to him though, his axes trembled in his hand. His knees banged together and Bio wondered what the hell was wrong, Fico wasn’t scare of a thing. Aur’s spine tilted, he arched his back. “Bio…” Fico whispered. “…. Put him to sleep.” He pointed at Aur. His ears twitched, he heard him, and that’s when he stood up and showed the beast he’s become. “Jesus.” Bio gasped at the sight in front of him, he didn’t believe in werewolves. Aur’s entire Elvaan body became covered with dark red fur, his hands replaced by sharp claws. His teeth, pointed and looked sharp enough to rip him in shreds. He snarled in their direction. Bio decided to make sure he didn’t die tonight and used Elemental Seal, and then he cast Sleep II on Auron. It had stuck, but now they wondered what to do, how long will it last. “I say we run for it.” Kairos said as he took off running towards Tahrongi Canyon. Bio and Fico followed, rushing after him. Bio looked back as he ran, and that’s when he saw Auron shake his head as he woke up. He howled, even in the distance Bio could hear it, and then he saw him run. He moved fast, too fast for Bio’s Taru legs. He moved at a speed faster than a chocobo and he was heading right in his direction……

Panic! VII

Chell looked to her side, she was going to Raise Faro as soon as Go’Bhu became distracted. At least everyone was up and on their feet. He snarled at them again, becoming infuriated. Stella stared right through him, there wasn’t an ounce of fear in her heart anymore. She was willing to die for her shell, her family. He stuck his sword into the ground, splitting the moss. His body shook, “What the ….” Soul began to say as he looked on in terror. He walked towards Faro and dug his claws deep into his neck, blood dripped onto his hands and he drunk it. Everyone turned away disgusted. Go’Bhu looked at them one last time. How dare they stand up to him, how dare they put up this much of a fight? He bent down on one knee, his body seemed to suffer a compulsion. Soul aimed his bow, but didn’t fire. A spike shot through the Quaduvs back, and then more followed after that. His body became covered with them. Tiny black spikes covered Go’Bhu’s body as it expanded and the Quaduv seemed to grow bigger. He felt his body surge with power as he stood. He looked at their faces one more time, the fear cast upon all of their faces as Go’Bhu took his second form. He had the ability to change on two conditions. Either he was near his final breath and it was a desperation maneuver or his thirst for blood was satisfied. He touched his great sword and it became engulfed in fire. “He just gets gayer and gayer.” Soul muttered to himself. He walked toward Chell, he grabbed her, his touch burning her skin. She tried to fight him off but it was useless. He looked fierce, even scarier than he did at first. “Let her go.” Stella ordered. Go’Bhu shook his head. He had what he wanted, it was time for Xchelly to die. Stella took out her sword, but she thought before she used Provoke. Elvane and Just couldn’t do anything to help in this fight, he seemed invulnerable to hand to hand attacks now. Soul and Stu took their aim, and everyone readied themselves again. He shook his head, he sighed at their attempts. He let go of his hold on Chell, and he paused. This caused them to worry, they didn’t know what this one was capable of, but his last form was a pain in the ass. Suddenly Elvane dropped to the ground, and Justcartilage nearly jumped into Drakkonis’ arm. Stella peered at the Quaduv, “It’s going to take more than that.” She said, she didn’t want to take her eyes off of Go’Bhu. “Oh… my… god.” Azenis cried when he noticed Elv. “One shot.” He murmured, he stared at the spike fitted through Elv’s skull. “He was weakened.” Tone said to him, his voice above a whisper. “Still…” “Quiet.” Stella ordered, she didn’t want her linkshell to show any sign of fear. She didn’t want to give this sick bastard the satisfaction of knowing how truly terrified they all were. “Go.” Go’Bhu ordered, “Leave.” He told Mythic who held their ground. Volarion and Bigby had taken their stand beside Go’Bhu. Chell was back behind Mythic, she managed to run to that side when he let her go. Soul held her in his arms as Stella and Go’Bhu had a staredown. Volarion brought out his swords and Stella turned her focus onto him. “Vol.” she called to him, trying to reach him. His eyes were blanked as he readied his attack. “Vol.” she once again stated. Go’Bhu sat and watched. “We know this isn’t you…” Stella began, Vol took a step closer to her. She didn’t back away, but Stu and Fal had their aim on him if he did anything funny. “Break free…” she told him, he seemed to hear that and he turned back to Go’Bhu. “We are your family.” Go’Bhu grabbed his sword again and raised it in the air. Vol shook his head, he turned back to Stella. His eyes filled blood red, an evil smirk on his face. “Die.” He said as he charged at her. She ducked it, and threw her sword to block him again, she hit him with her shield. “Vol.” she cried frantically as Soul shot an arrow that landed through his chest. He stopped, looked at them and then removed it. Stu followed up and hit him with his. This one pierced his neck, he removed it, shook his head and charged again. “This is bad.”

Panic! VI

Stella rolled to her side, sidestepping the Quaduvs attack. Go’Bhu attacked again, he had the intent to kill everyone here. He peered at the Paladin inside her Mithran eyes, how she dare challenge him. Go’Bhu sent a mind shattering roar throughout the Sanctuary and before Mythic knew it, they heard footsteps, stampeding through the area. “Quaduvs.” Drakkonis shouted as he was the first to spot them. Go’Bhu had called for backup for this battle. “Let’s do this.” Just said, he waited until a Quaduv was close enough to punch, initiating a fight. He laid his fist into its thick shell, damaging it as much as he could as Stella danced with Go’Bhu. Each of the members had their own battle to do now, their mentality was to gang up on the NM, but it was going to be hard with the distractions. Soul and Stu took their places in the back, firing arrows at the mobs that their LS were fighting, they were going to help anyway that they could. But more Quaduvs seemed to come, and before they knew it, they would be outnumbered. Once more Go’Bhu swung his blade, and Stella countered with hers, but it was taking its toll. Go’Bhu was far stronger than she was. “This ought to slow you down.” Drakkonis said as he began to cast Gravity on Go’Bhu, the spell hit him but didn’t take effect. He then casts Slow, and Paralyze, all of which Go’Bhu resisted. With a swing of his sword, Stella countered it, but he managed to hit her with his free hand. It sent her crashing to the ground as it took her by surprise, before he could capitalize, Batt and Auron both used Provoke. Riquel played his flute, giving them a wonderful melody and helped raised their accuracy. Bio and Drtran swapped nukes as they Quaduvs came in by the dozens, they were weak mobs, but it was just a lot of them. Go’Bhu’s blade came slicing through Battosai’s armor, he felt the sting of the Great Sword as it cut through his arm, but he didn’t give up, he continued to distract him. Riq was beside him, curing him as Auron laid on some assistant cures. Fal steadied her aim through her crossbow, and fired. A shot that split a Quaduv’s skull and gained her some health back. She swapped bolts, and made the next Quaduv she hit blind if he lived through the attack. “Soul.” Stu turned and fired at the Quaduv behind Undyingsouls back, it caught him before he could hit him. Soul nodded his head to him, thanking him as he turned and fired his arrows. A Quaduv slapped Just around, one hit him from one side and the other hit him again. “Help.” Just yelled, and soon he saw a Funguar run to his aid, kicking at the Quaduvs as Tone unleashed his Rampage. Bio cured Fico as he used his Dual Axes to hit two different Quaduvs before Soul plucked one of them off.

Go’Bhu grabbed Batt by his throat, he was getting weaker and weaker as the fight ran on. He propped his sword on the ground and began readying to impale the weaker Pld. A polearm thrust into the back of the NM’s neck and that’s when he dropped Batt to the ground, and turned to face Xantoro. Firewing went behind the NM’s back as Xantoro let loose a Wheeling Thrust and his wyvern completed the attack with his Hydra Breath. Go’Bhu began to wind his sword, and Xantoro cursed, he knew no one is going to provoke him off of this move. So he fought, getting in as many shots as he could before his timer ran out. “You are making me very angry.” He became Berserked. That wouldn’t help his cause as it raises attack power, lowers defense, but any damage done was good enough for him. “For God’s sake, Stun him.” Chall looked over and noticed, he laid his Katana into the NM’s body. Biofao turned his attention to Go’Bhu, he casted Stun, but it didn’t take effect. He tried to cast Sleep II, but it didn’t take effect either. Xan’s eyes grew big as the Great Sword crashed through his chest, he staggered back and breathed for the last time. Go’Bhu grabbed his sword from the Dragoon’s body, and swung it at the Mithra creeping behind him, it caught Falkinn in the leg, and she dropped to the ground in pain, as the sword came crashing down Stella provoked it. “Get back here bitch.” She yelled after she composed herself, with Drakk by her side Go’Bhu charged again. Tone and his pet had disposed of the Quaduvs as they came, but his arms grew weary. Before he knew it, he felt something push him in the back with great force. Volarion’s Headbutt had worked, and it took him off guard and he was unable to attack. Rushing over Vol used his swords to deplete Tone’s health. Before he could deal the final blow, Faro had casts Flash on him, blinding him and it gave him enough time to cure Tone so he didn’t be knocked unconscious. Vol cast Jet Stream and aimed it directly at Faro, but he had Stoneskin up so it took a hit for him, but he felt his thicker skin becoming removed, he wasn’t built to take hits. As a last resort, he summoned Carbuncle, and sent it after Vol who demolished it with one spell. “Gay.” He rushed to Faro with his Bloody Blades equipped and began to hack. A katana hit him in the abdomen, and it caused him to reel in pain. “Sorry brother.” Chall said as he nodded to Faro. Bigby snuck behind Faro and launched his daggers into his neck, blood spewed from the wound and splattered on Chall’s face, who sat there frozen. He removed them and stared at Chall, who readied his Katana. Bigby swung them wildly, full of anger and Chall blocked what he could. Every swing Bigby seemed angrier and angrier. “Help!” he called, as Stu reading his arrow Big tossed one of his daggers at him, it struck him in the hand and stuck there. He cursed a muttered as pain shot through his body. “Don’t touch it.” He told Soul, who looked ready to pull it out. Bio cured Faro as much as he could while Doc nuked away at the incoming beastmen.

Stella’s blade sliced across Go’Bhu’s neck, causing him to spin around and his sword cut Drakk through his chest. “Drakk!” she cried out as she realized what had happened, but she still laid her sword into the NM. “I’m fine.” He said as he stepped back and cured himself. His wife was in need of all the help she could get, and he chanted until his blade had an Icy Aura around it. Chell stirred on the ground, she looked up to see Elvane and Azenis hitting Quaduvs, confused she looked around and saw even more mobs and Mythic folks. She tried to regain herself but she felt too weak, she sat from her spot on the ground and watched the ongoing battle with wild eyes. “Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck.” Doc cursed, as he tried to turn and stun Go’Bhu’s next move. Sleepga II. Stella’s eyes closed on her, and she began to fall asleep. He roared through the area, causing his forces to cease their attacks. He had slept everyone last one of Mythic. Go’Bhu Bhascon begins casting Flarega II, and after the timer was up, everyone would be burned to a crisp, making them easier to defeat. Fire danced throughout Zi’Tah, striking everyone as flames danced over their bodies, they dropped to their knees, and he smirked. They weren’t defeated but they were too weak to have the strength to stop him now. Chell looked on in horror at the casualties, she couldn’t let this happen, if they all were defeated, then they all would die. She got up and rushed to the circle, pain hurting her body with each move. “Please Altana.” Was all she said. She used Curaga II and it hit everyone in range, it didn’t fully work like she planned, but it stalled time. Go’Bhu kicked the dirt under his feet as he snarled at Chell. He rushed towards her. “Fuck me.” Faro said as he ran beside her, he got close to as many members as he could. “I love you guys.” He prayed. Farozan used Benediction, that was a suicide move. Go’Bhu grabbed him by his neck, twisted it until his life was drained away, his eyes rolled around in his head unlife like, the Quaduv snapped the bone in his neck and everyone there could here the pop, he tossed his body against a tree. As blood ran down Faro’s mouth, Mythic regain their composure. His sacrifice would not go in vain….
